Those who follow us closely on LinkedIn may already have seen it: Open GLASSroom is entering another round.
With Open GLASSroom EDUpro Germany, our network will continue from October 2026 to September 2029 with support from the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education (Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre).
This time, the focus is not simply on producing more content. Instead, we want to further professionalise and strengthen the network that has grown over the past years. The project focuses on the German higher education landscape, while also opening up the Open GLASSroom more systematically to other educational sectors.
In particular, we will work on four areas: improving and scaling our central processes for onboarding, submission and review of OER; further didactic development of our materials and support for teachers and students in creating high-quality Open Educational Resources; strengthening the national network and exchange between universities; and exploring how Open GLASSroom materials and concepts can be transferred to schools, vocational education and further training.
A first preview of the new project will already be available September 15th at the Leipzig Faรงade Day. Our project partner Prof. Dr.-Ing. Felix Nicklisch from HTWK Leipzig will present Open GLASSroom EDUpro Germany there and bring along the new project poster.
The poster already gives a good idea of where the next phase is heading: smart processes for OER, an Open GLASSroom EduHUB, community and transfer activities, as well as evaluation and an Open Teachbook.
For us, this means above all: Open GLASSroom continues to grow. Alongside activities and projects in other countries, EDUpro Germany strengthens the German network, further develops our processes and opens new pathways for transfer into other educational sectors.s.
