Last week, the Open GLASSroom team gathered at the University of Rijeka (Sveuฤiliลกte u Rijeci) for our 11th Consortium Meetingโ€”a dynamic two-day event full of collaboration, reflection, and innovation in glass education.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Day 1: Project Progress & Perspectives

Our first day focused on reviewing current developments and mapping out whatโ€™s ahead. Key highlights included:

  • ๐Ÿ“น Publishing a new collection of Open Educational Resource (OER) videos

  • ๐ŸŽ“ Strategies for integrating OER into academic curricula

  • ๐ŸŒ Laying the groundwork for an online course on Glass Design & Engineering

We also visited the impressive Laboratory of Structural Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, where we had the pleasure of hearing from Nebojลกa Buljan. His talk on non-planar architectural envelopes, drawing from his experience at Permasteelisa Group, sparked engaging discussions on design challenges in contemporary glass architecture.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ Day 2: Workshop & Student Engagement

On the second day, we shifted focus to hands-on learning. Our workshop welcomed over 30 students and staff who tackled group challenges involving:

  • Exploring OER content

  • Navigating the edusources platform

  • Reviewing and giving feedback on our video materials

The results? Insightful inputโ€”and our content passed the test with flying colours! We wrapped up with a lively interactive quiz that brought a fun, competitive edge to the day.

๐Ÿ™ Thank You & Next Steps

Huge thanks to our wonderful hosts Adriana Bjelanoviฤ‡ and Nebojลกa Buljan, and to all who participated for their enthusiasm and thoughtful contributions.
