Everyone knows the situation: a project comes to an end, valuable results have been created โ€“ and then the key question arises: What happens next? How can these outcomes be sustained and meaningfully integrated into teaching? For the OER resources developed in recent projects, one of several possible answers is the Open Teachbook.

What is an Open Teachbook?

An Open Teachbook is more than a collection of materials. It is a structured, digital teaching and learning format in which Open Educational Resources (OER) are didactically curated and transformed into coherent learning pathways.

Rather than presenting isolated content, the focus is on context, orientation, and application. The aim is to support learning processes and make materials directly usable within courses and curricula.

How is it implemented?

The Open GLASSroom Teachbook is being developed at TU Delft under the leadership of Jagoda Cupaฤ‡ as part of an Education Innovation Project. It deliberately builds on existing Open GLASSroom content.

The central task is the transformation of these materials: moving from a growing resource collection to a structured and didactically guided format. Existing OER are reorganised, embedded into curriculum-aligned learning pathways, and complemented by elements such as a digital gl@ssary and interactive, course-specific components.

The focus is not on creating entirely new content, but on making existing materials more usable and effective in teaching.

Who is it for?

The Teachbook primarily targets BSc and MSc students, who benefit from structured and self-directed learning formats. At the same time, it addresses educators who want to integrate OER into their teaching, as well as anyone interested in the practical implementation of Open Educational Practices.
