In beautiful autumn weather, the Open GLASSroom Coordination Team gathered this week at TU Delft to reflect on the initiativeโ€™s strategic direction and to explore potential follow-up projects. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and shape the next steps for Open GLASSroom.

Our discussions focused on four key areas:

  • ๐ŸŒ Community building
  • ๐ŸŽฅ Production and reuse of open content
  • ๐ŸŽ“ Didactic concepts
  • ๐Ÿ”Ž Accompanying research on Open Educational Practices

To deepen our understanding, we engaged with several TU Delft experts who shared their insights and experiences:

  • Nela Kapelanย (Coordinator at the Innovation and Impact Centre, TU Delft) introduced current EU funding schemes and discussed opportunities to expand Open GLASSroom activities, for example towards vocational education.
  • Prof. Timon Idemaย (Bionanoscience) presented initiatives in the Open Pedagogy movement, especially his work with interactive open textbooks.
  • Maria Buist-Zhukย (Specialist in open education, educational policy, and international relations at TU Delft Library) provided valuable perspectives on national and international developments in open education and outlined TU Delftโ€™s comprehensive support for open education communities such as Open GLASSroom.

At the same time, the team used the occasion to prepare the conclusion of the current ERASMUS+ project and to finalize arrangements for the closing meeting, which will take place in Bari on 14โ€“15 October.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all participants for their time, input, and inspiration. Special thanks also go to theย Internationalization Fund of TU Dresdenย for making this exchange possible.

The meeting in Delft once again showed:ย before Open GLASSroom is after Open GLASSroom. New ideas and opportunities continue to emerge โ€” and the Coordination Team is ready to shape the next chapter.
