At the ICSA2027 โ€“ 7th International Conference on Structures and Architecture, a Special Session titled โ€œDesigning in the Open: Knowledge Infrastructures for Sustainable Futuresโ€ invites contributions at the intersection of education, research, and practice.

Chaired by Jagoda Cupaฤ‡ and Aline Bergert, the session explores how open principles can shape mindsets and practices to support sustainable, adaptive, and circular approaches in structures and architecture.

The focus is on knowledge infrastructures: how learning practices, design knowledge, and data can be shared, reused, and further developed across communities. This includes topics such as open educational resources linking research and practice, collaborative development of design knowledge, and platforms for sharing data on reclaimed materials and regenerative strategies.

Deadline extended: Abstract submission is now open until 15 April 2026.
